Before I started painting in 1991, I chose to observe the art world from a distance, appreciating but not participating. Then after staring at a blank canvas for over a month I finally became inspired to express myself. Many of my paintings include the abstract characteristics of today's greatest motor racing circuits. The non-representational work is also clearly inspired by the color, speed and excitement of motor racing along with other sources of inspiration seen every day. My being self-taught brings a freshness that could only have come from my inner passions and not from outside instruction. I believe we all have art inside of us in one form or another. Perhaps my work will inspire others to bring out their inner artist.
